“It’s a marvelous thing, the ocean. For some reason when two people sit together looking out at it, they stop caring whether they talk or stay silent. You never get tired of watching it. And no matter how rough the waves get, you’re never bothered by the noise the water makes by the commotion of the surface - it never seems too loud, or too wild.”—Banana Yoshimoto, Goodbye Tsugumi (via bookmania)
No matter how hurt you’ve been, don’t grow bitter. Love with all your heart. And when it’s hard to love, be kind.
People will come to you for advice. No matter how much you pour your heart to them, they will always have to experience it themselves to understand. Don’t get mad when they do not follow your advice. Don’t get exhausted when they keep coming to you broken. Be there for them, don’t abandon them - they will always need a friend

Having peace and balance in life begins with loving yourself and knowing that you are beautiful. Positive thoughts come from that and you will be genuinely happy. People will admire you for that
Be real. Don’t trick people into thinking they’re right by agreeing with them. Say what ever the hell is on your mind and challenge people.
If you are in an uncomfortable position, leave. If you’re not interested in something, show it.
If a guy tells you he misses or loves you, and you don’t feel the same, don’t say it back.
Have dance parties. With your sister, brother, friends, and even yourself. Whenever, wherever. Blast Beyonce and just dance, no matter how silly you look.
Be comfortable leaving the house without makeup on.
Stop counting calories. Eat whatever the hell you want and don’t regret it
Go for runs around town or at parks. You will discover the beauty of Earth and it will cleanse your mind and make you feel and look good.

If you find out you hate your major, get out of it. Don’t worry about what your parents will say, don’t worry that you’ve wasted time, don’t worry about starting over. Do what makes you happy
You will always be sheltered by your family, your friends and the place you grew up in. You may eventually feel trapped and that you are no longer learning or growing. If you want to start a new chapter in life, start it. Don’t be sad that you’re leaving so much behind. There are bigger things out there waiting for you.
“Only be with someone who you think you can learn from. They should be smarter than you in certain ways so that you can continue to grow and be interested. Above all, you should undoubtedly be proud that you are with them.”—(via beautiful-musings)
